I’m a finance PhD student at MIT interested in all sorts of things. This is a space where I put my stuff, research and otherwise, as I move through the world. I live in Somerville with my partner and my cat, Gnocchi.
While you’re here, check out my research, my software, or my blog.
Research
Winners and Losers: Competition, Creative Destruction, and Labor Income Risk: Technology-driven creative destruction creates concentrated risks for labor income because of asymmetric passthrough of profits to wages for upside and downside shocks.
LLMs Do Not Emulate Populations: We derive two tests of the practice of “silicon sampling,” or replacing humans with LLMs for behavioral research, that require no human data. LLMs consistently fail both.
Software
wrds: An R package that handles connections to the WRDS postgres database
quantspace: An R package for quantile regression that eliminates crossing
baggr: An R package for Bayesian meta-analysis
Blog
Most recent post: The Hypothesis Space is Boring
And finally an obligatory photo of Gnocchi:
